Double Slovenian on the men’s Super-G, Loic Meillard is the new Alpine Combined Champion.

HAFJELL, NORWAY: What an amazing day in Hafjell. With perfect weather and snow conditions the fifth day of the Junior Worlds had to be a success. In the men’s Super-G, Miha Hrobat from Slovenia raced to gold, followed by his teammate Stefan Hadalin (SLO) and Loic Meillard (SUI) on second and third place. After the slalom race yesterday the same three guys completed the podium at the men’s Alpine Combined, with Meillard as the new champion and Hadalin and Hrobat grabbing the silver and bronze medal.

“I am a very happy man now. This has been an amazing day for me and it’s even more beautiful when I get the chance to stand on the podium with my teammate next to me”, the Super-G champion Hrobat said.

Loic Meillard won the slalom yesterday and with the third place on the Super-G he could call himself a FIS Alpine Junior World Champion in Alpine Combined 2015.

“Today was a great day for me, and two medals is more than I ever hoped for. The weather was unreal and the conditions some of the best we’ve had so far this season” Meillard said.

Tomorrow is Downhill training day here in Hafjell, and on Friday the Junior Worlds is finishing up with Downhill for both men and ladies.
